Lab honors Jeremy R. Knowles
Teaching laboratory highlights new approach to undergrad science
Faculty, students, and staff convened in the Northwest Science Building in Cambridge on Dec. 1 to dedicate the Jeremy R. Knowles Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory, a gift from C. Kevin Landry ’66 and his wife, Barrie. The newly named lab honors the late Jeremy R. Knowles, longtime dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Knowles and the Landrys shared a commitment to advancing undergraduate education, and the new laboratory will provide students with vital, hands-on learning across multiple disciplines and help them experience the daily work of a scientific researcher. Jane S. Knowles, Knowles’ widow, also attended the dedication, which featured a tour of the new facility and discussions with undergraduates about their cutting-edge work.
